Pallet crate turned into two coffee tables

This was by far the most fun repurpose I have done.  I love the idea of repurposing at item into something completely different.  I fell in love with this crate at first sight and knew immediately what I wanted to do with it.  I think I enjoyed doing this repurpose so much because it was all salvaged material.  Material that would have probably ended up in a landfill somewhere.

I transformed it into two coffee tables.  It was easier to do than I had initially thought it was going to be but still I had to have a little help.  My son cut the crate in two sections for me.  He actually cut it in half measuring from bottom of the crate up.  He did an excellent job and is very handy to have around.  He probably would blush if he knew I was saying this.  I used the top of the crate as a lid for one of the tables.  I had to make the bottom and top for the other table.  I used,-- yep, you guessed it-- pallet wood for the bottom and top of the piece that was cut off.  I added new hardware to both of them, making great storage space.  I also added casters to one making it movable.

Crate as one unit.  See how big it is.

Crate cut in half as two units.  See how the piece that was cut off is
top and bottomless:

Both crates as I was working on them.  They are really starting to
take shape now. I have put one coat of stain on the left one and
added a bottom to the one on the right:

TADA!  I stained this one natural and added black/bronze
hardware. I wanted to put hinges on them to make the top
easier to lift, but wasn't happy with the way they looked after
I got them on.  It made them look too much like trunks and
that wasn't the look I was trying to achieve. The handle on top
is actually a door knocker and made out of iron which
should last forever:

This one has a dark stain and industrial hardware.  I added casters
instead of traditional legs to give it that industrial look and to make it
movable. Notice the handle?  It is made out of plumbing material.  It is
very heavy duty and also should last forever.

Bulletin Boards made from old picture frames

Doors repurposed into bench

This is two doors we made into a bench.  As you can see it is huge.  We left one door intact and used it as the back of the bench.  We cut the other door in half and used each half as the sides.  I don't know if I would recommend making one this big unless you have lots of space for it.  It doesn't really fit in the space I have it now, but I love it and make it work.  If I make another one, I think I will cut the door in half lengthwise, then cut it down to a smaller size and use just one door for the whole bench making the back and sides lower also.

TV stand turned into message center

Remember, the cash drawer station I turned into a TV stand?  Well, I just had to do something with the old TV stand so I made part of it into a message board with one side being a chalk board and the other side being a bulletin board, complete with holders for both chalk and the bulletin pins.

I am making a bench/coat rack out of the remaining parts.  I will post it when complete.

Side table redo

This is my $4.60 table purchase.  I removed the door (that was barely hanging on anyway) and changed out the legs.  Leaving the door off and adding a basket made this a very easy and inexpensive update.  It is now a trendy side table that is the perfect size for any room.

You can barely see the legs before.

Dresser mirror turned into a chalk board and bulletin board

I have an obsession with MIRRORS.  I love the large dresser mirrors.  Mostly,  I like to repurpose them but if the mirror and frame both are in good shape, I will just redo them.  I have some pretty awesome mirrors just waiting for me to work on them.

This was a mirror that came off an oak dresser.  I love the way it turned out.  It is very useful, both as a chalkboard and a bulletin board.

Vintage dressing table turned into side table

This was an old dressing table that was dismantled before I actually purchased it.  I do not have any before pictures. Both the side cabinets and mirror were removed.  It took a lot of sanding to get this piece ready to be painted.  It still had part of the wood extruding from the side that connected it to the mirror.  I added door knobs as the drawer pulls.
